I purchased the app some months ago but now I am getting ads and being asked to purchase the app again. Why?

If you re-installed the application, it will need internet access temporarily to restore your purchase status. Please also ensure that you use the SAME GOOGLE EMAIL address if setting up a new device or are bringing the device from a factory reset. As with purchased apps on Google Play, they are tied to your Google account for obvious reasons. If you set up the device with a new email address, then as far as Google and Zabamobile is concerned, you are a new user.
